If you are planning to do your own packing, here are some helpful hints:

(Please plan to have packing completed prior to the arrival of the ECONO MOVE personnel for pickup. Waiting for the packing to be finished could delay other customers and can create additional costs.)

1. Securely seal all cartons.
2. Label each carton with your name.
3. If packing plates, pack them standing on their edge, like records on a shelf.
4. Wrap tops of ceramic or china pieces separately from the bottom.
5. Shake cartons lightly before sealing; if something is rattling, find out what it is.
6. Pack cartons tightly, but don't cram them.
7. Use plenty of wrappings such as: towels, blankets, sheets, newspaper (watch for the ink rubbing off), or bubble wrap.
8. Do not pack valuable papers, jewelry, medicines or family photos.
9. When moving chests, bureaus, etc., pack drawer contents separately.
10. The heavier the individual items being packed, the smaller the carton to use. Example: books go into the smallest cartons; comforters and blankets into the largest.
